The 48 Hour Challenge

The 48 Hour Challenge is comprised of two days of activities, one night away from home, and preparation time. Execution of this strand can be your priority in the third term.

Students will spend a day experiencing activities they may not have encountered before. This could include an outdoor pursuits facility; many accommodate SEND and PMLD students and can provide guidance and personal care facilities, as well as overnight accommodation, depending on the needs of your group. You may prefer to ‘camp’ in your school for the night, where you have access to all the facilities you require.

A day may be spent exploring your local environment, experiencing things such as trains, lifts, adapted boats, fair rides, etc. The choice is yours, but the day must include a variety and personal challenge.

You will need to take time to prepare students for their activities, possibly by emulating some of the sensory and vestibular elements. If you could like further information or help with planning your 48 Hour Challenge, please click here to contact the team.
